Convert FBX to USDZ
Convert FBX to USDZ in your browser. The conversion runs on this page and the file never leaves your computer.
Result
Before you convert: what this keeps and what it destroys
Preserved
- The geometry, triangle for triangle
- Overall dimensions and proportions
- Watertightness, where the input is watertight
- The unit, recorded in the file
- Colour
- Separate parts and their positions
Destroyed
- Nothing either format can represent
Why people convert FBX to USDZ
Getting a game or product asset into augmented reality on an iPhone or iPad.
The geometry and material colours come across and the node hierarchy survives, so a multi-part asset stays assembled. The stage is written as text USDA inside a stored, 64-byte-aligned archive, which is what AR Quick Look requires.
Animation does not come along. That is worth saying clearly for this destination in particular, because AR Quick Look can play animation and people reasonably expect an animated FBX to arrive animated. It will not: this site reads geometry, transforms and colour only. Scale is the other thing to check, since FBX's unit scale factor is a frequent source of models that land a hundred times too large.
What you get
You get a binary USDZ file containing the same triangles the FBX file described. No geometry is added, removed or approximated: mesh-to-mesh conversion is a change of container, and this site's tests check that the triangle count comes out identical.
Carried across: the unit, recorded in the file, supported base or vertex colour, the supported part structure.
The conversion runs in your browser. Your file stays on your computer and is not uploaded.
What to check afterwards
- FBX declares its unit in the file. Check the output dimensions in the receiving application, especially when its import settings can override the unit.
If you need something this conversion cannot give you
This pair loses very little. USDZ carries what FBX carries, so the main reason to choose a different target is what the receiving software accepts.
Going the other way
This site reads FBX but does not write it. For the reverse conversion, use an application that can export FBX.
How we know this conversion works
This pair was checked against 2 files from the test corpus on 2026-09-04. Each run parses its own output back in and compares the bounding box, the triangle count and, for closed solids, the volume against the input.
A pair that fails those checks doesn't get a page. That's why this site lists 120 conversions and not the several hundred a format-times-format grid would suggest.
