At this needs roughly here. Whether it fits depends on the geometry, not the size: a large CAD assembly can open, while a much smaller STEP exported from a mesh can run out of memory. If it does, this page says so, and the file never leaves your computer either way.

Why a COLLADA model arrives rotated or the wrong size
COLLADA files declare both their up axis and their unit scale, and exporters disagree about both. This reader honours what the file states and scales the coordinates to metres, reporting an unusual scale factor rather than quietly treating it as millimetres. A model lying on its side usually means the source was authored Z-up and exported Y-up.
Skinned and animated geometry is not evaluated. A character rigged to a skeleton has its shape defined by a controller, and this reader refuses that rather than showing a bind pose you might mistake for the model. Export a static mesh first.
Geometry stored in a separate file is not loaded either. Keep the export together, or ask for one self-contained file. The COLLADA guide explains the interchange problems.
