IGES viewer
Open a .iges or .igs file and see it, with its real dimensions and units. It renders in this tab.
Your file never leaves your browser. STEP, IGES and BREP fetch the OpenCASCADE kernel (2.3 MB over the wire); 3DM fetches rhino3dm (2.5 MB before compression); every mesh and scene format fetches neither. Nothing downloads until you pick a file.what we bundle ↗

At this needs roughly here. Whether it fits depends on the geometry, not the size: a large CAD assembly can open, while a much smaller STEP exported from a mesh can run out of memory. If it does, this page says so, and the file never leaves your computer either way.

Why an IGES preview looks faceted
IGES stores exact surfaces. This viewer cannot draw a surface directly, so it tessellates the file into triangles first and reports the tolerance it used. Facets you can see in the preview are the approximation, not something wrong with your file.
IGES is a surface format rather than a solid one. A file can hold a set of trimmed surfaces that look like a closed part but leave gaps at the seams. If the watertightness check fails here, the surfaces did not close, and converting to a mesh will carry the same gaps.
Keep the IGES when you need its exact geometry. If the recipient can take STEP, ask for that instead: it carries solids and assembly structure that IGES was never designed to hold. The IGES guide covers the import problems worth checking.
