Resize an STL in CADFormats

This video tutorial shows how to use the CADFormats Size and units controls with the supplied sample model. You will enter a target width, compare the preview, apply the resize, and verify the exported STL.
Use a target dimension when you want to change the size of the part itself. If the file only appears wrong because two applications interpreted its units differently, start with fixing STL units.
Open and inspect the STL
Open Size and units in the Workbench. Choose your STL, or load the supplied unitless example from Examples. Check the current dimensions before changing anything.
The video’s example is unitless. Its target width of 125.5 is in model units. Assign the intended physical unit first if you need a particular size in millimetres or inches.
Enter the target dimension
Choose Resize to one target dimension and enter the width you want. The video uses 125.5. With proportions locked, the other dimensions follow the same scale factor.
Preview the result before applying it. Check both the target dimension and the resulting overall proportions; typing a physical measurement into a unitless model does not establish a unit.
Apply and check the result
Apply the preview to keep the resized version. Undo returns to the previous model if you need to review the change. The video demonstrates undo, then applies the same target again.
Check the new dimensions in Model details. Switch between front and isometric views to inspect the shape. Changing the view does not make another geometry change.
Verify and download
Select STL, then Verify and export. Download the prepared file after the output check succeeds. You can also save the inspection report as a record of the measurements.
STL remains unitless after export. Use the same intended units in your receiving application and check a known dimension there. Successful output readback checks the generated file; it does not establish that the resized part suits your manufacturing process.
